Amun,
his wife Mut and their son Khons comprised the Theban
Triad. The principal center for their worship was Thebes (ancient Luxor).
Amun was
the primeval creator god. He was worshiped in the animal
form of a goose.
Mut was
the wife of Amun. When Amun became associated with the
sun god Re,
she became the eye of Re and was manifest in the form of
a lioness.
Khons,
their son, was the god of the moon.
