Third Intermediary Period (1550 BC
- 1070 BC)
The Libians invaded and established
a center of power at Thebes by using the Priests of Amum
as a vehicle for ruling. They controled Lower Egypt.
Various rulers in the Nile Delta
took the title of Pharaoh, but they did not rule both
Upper and Lower Egypt. They ruled Upper Egypt from Tanis.
